From Minneapolis to Dublin
The search began with a simple wish: to find a home in Dublin where the whole family could feel at home.
With two grown-up children, they wanted somewhere that offered everyone their own space, while also creating a place where they could come together, enjoy the city and make the most of everything Dublin and beyond has to offer.
We explored many different homes and locations across the city, each with something to recommend it. But as the search unfolded, it became clear that they were looking for more than just a beautiful house – they were looking for a lifestyle.
And then they discovered Grand Canal Dock.
Vibrant, connected and full of life, it offered the perfect balance. Restaurants and cafés on the doorstep, the energy of the city close by, the waterfront to enjoy, and easy access to everything beyond Dublin.
The Result – A penthouse apartment that had everything they had been looking for and, as it turned out, a little bit more.
If you are an overseas buyer looking to purchase property in Dublin, we HIGHLY recommend Miriam Finn. She and her colleague, Cathy Daniel, made the entire process seamless. Their value goes far beyond simply showing you properties.
Miriam came highly recommended by a vendor’s agent in Ballsbridge. We initially met with her via video call to discuss the types of properties and locations we were considering, as well as to walk through the Irish buying process in detail. This was incredibly helpful, as the process is somewhat different from what we are accustomed to.
Miriam’s knowledge of Dublin is immense, and she helped us evaluate different parts of the city based on how we envisioned living there. She provided us with a list of properties that met our criteria for us to review. We flew over to view properties over the course of a few days, and Miriam also took the time to show us the surrounding neighborhoods. We especially appreciated that she never pushed us toward any particular property. Instead, she listened carefully to our feedback and guided us through the decision-making process.
The market in early 2026 was extremely competitive. Whenever new properties came onto the market, Miriam would send us video tours, which allowed us to quickly evaluate them and ultimately move forward with a property where we were able to get our offer accepted. We successfully closed on the property in June 2026.
Miriam was also instrumental in connecting us with an excellent solicitor and inspector. Her colleague Cathy helped us with everything we needed to get the property set up, from utilities to Wi-Fi and beyond. Both Miriam and Cathy were incredibly responsive, accommodating, and flexible when we needed to communicate by phone because of the time difference.
Another huge bonus was their ability to connect us with a local, trusted home renovation company to help us with updates to the property.
Buying property in another country can feel overwhelming, especially when you are unfamiliar with the local buying process. Miriam and Cathy took so much of the stress out of the experience and made what could have been a daunting process feel manageable and, ultimately, enjoyable.
If you are considering buying property in Dublin, we cannot recommend Miriam Finn highly enough. You will be in excellent hands.
